Developing Senior Leaders Programme

This course is aimed at Primary or Secondary experienced middle leaders wishing to apply for or recently appointed to senior leadership posts. Participants will have the opportunity to visit four Alliance schools throughout the course and meet the respective Headteachers. This programme will develop a range of skills required to be an effective senior leader; to raise awareness and increase understanding of a range of issues facing senior leaders; and to prepare delegates for the challenges they will encounter as senior leaders.

Course Outline:

  • November 2017 Succeeding in Senior Leadership, 2pm – 5pm
    Introduction to the Programme, setting a strategic vision, action planning, tools for evaluation, keeping abreast of National developments

 

  • December 2017 Effective use of whole school data 2pm – 5pm
    Data; RAISE, Curriculum & Accountability – Progress 8; Intervention – sharing strategies

 

  • January 2018 Preparing for interview and establishing yourself as a senior leader, 2pm – 5pm
    The selection process; change management; establishing yourself in your first year

 

  • February 2018 Dealing with challenging situations, 2pm – 5pm
    Dealing with challenging situations, HR issues: sickness/capability; Accountability: holding yourself and others to account

 

  • June 2018 Celebration event, 4.00pm – 5.30pm at SWCHS
