Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form

Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form is a very successful and heavily over-subscribed comprehensive school situated in Braintree, Essex. Braintree Sixth Form opened in September 2009, housed in a brand new purpose building.

Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form gained Academy status in August 2011. September 2013 marked the establishment of the North Essex Multi-Academy Trust (NEMAT). NEMAT consists of two schools: Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form and The Ramsey Academy, Halstead. The overarching aims of NEMAT are to pursue educational improvement for students across the North Essex area and to engage with other schools and education providers to achieve this. At this time, The Ramsey Academy, Halstead joined our Braintree Sixth Form partnership.

We are a very well established and successful initial teacher training provider within the Mid Essex Initial Teacher Training Consortium which each year successfully trains between 50-75 teachers across a wide variety of subjects. We are committed to ensuring that all our staff has access to the highest quality Continual Professional Development (CPD) and this has enabled the school to markedly develop its quality of teaching and learning over time and enable the school to facilitate a number of CPD programmes to other schools as well as to our own staff.
